Fatboy USA: Designed to Lounge—Built for the Outdoors
Fatboy has always had a thing for comfort. Not the stiff, uptight kind that looks good in a showroom but disappears under pressure. Real comfort. The kind you sink into, stretch out on, and suddenly lose all ambition to check your email. From the moment Finnish designer Jukka Setälä created the Original beanbag in 2002—and Dutch entrepreneur Alex Bergman turned it into a brand with attitude—Fatboy has been rewriting the rules of modern relaxation.
It started with a single oversized beanbag, inspired by a Fatboy Slim CD and a refusal to take design too seriously. What followed was an explosion of joyful, functional pieces that took over living rooms, lofts, studios, and hotel lounges across Europe. And then, with the launch of Fatboy USA in 2005, those bold, oversized vibes found their way outside.
Because Fatboy knows that lounging shouldn’t stop at the door.
The brand’s outdoor collection is where clever Dutch design meets all-weather durability—and where your backyard, balcony, or poolside setup levels up in comfort and character. From the oversized luxury of the Buggle-up and Original Outdoor, to the iconic Headdemock hammock (with no trees required), and on to the festival-ready Lamzac air loungers that inflate in seconds—every piece is made to make your outside time more chill, more colorful, and infinitely more fun.
Fatboy outdoor products are crafted with high-performance, UV-resistant, water-repellent materials that can handle the elements but never lose their sense of humor. They’re made for beach days, rooftop nights, backyard BBQs, unexpected rainstorms, and spontaneous naps in the sun. And they’re designed to move with you—light enough to carry, bold enough to stand out, and tough enough to last.
But beyond the product specs and weatherproof fabric, there’s a philosophy that runs through every stitch: life’s better when you give yourself permission to slow down. To stretch out under the sky. To sit a little longer. To laugh with friends in a hammock that looks like modern art. To stop treating outdoor furniture like an afterthought—and start treating it like a lifestyle.
Fatboy USA doesn’t just design for outdoor living. It creates experiences—unexpected, unbothered, and a little bit rebellious. Because in a world full of beige patio sets and overbuilt deck chairs, Fatboy shows up with bright colors, bold shapes, and a wink.
And just like that first beanbag changed the way we lounge indoors, Fatboy’s outdoor line makes it very clear: comfort doesn’t have to stay inside.
It belongs wherever the fun is.
