Grove Sketch is an immersive three-part series of graphite compositions on textured paper. In Grove Sketch 1, a thin grouping of trees in the forefront draws the eye before subtly giving way to a nearby mountain range. Throughout the piece, falling leaves, shaded outlines, and bare branches are suggestive of late autumn.
