Grove Sketch is an immersive three-part series of graphite compositions on textured paper. In Grove Sketch 2, two heavily shaded trees become a frame for the mountain range in the distance. Serving as the central focus of the piece, the rocky slopes of the mountain are given texture and dimensionality through careful hatching. Throughout the work, falling leaves, shaded outlines, and bare branches are indicative of late autumn.
