I'm expecting that they'll hold out well in a salty air environment. I did replace the provided bolts with stainless bolts to avoid rusting. I had trouble assembling the arms in about half of the 6 chairs (tolerance issue with the predrillled holes). I needed to loosen all the connecting bolts, and then do some serious banging to get them to fit properly.
